The children at St. Dominic school will have a playground to use for many years to come after receiving a donation of $3, 774.06.

Humboldt Co-op presented the check to the playground committee on Monday at the local Co-op gas bar.

The money was donated through fuel up days at the Humboldt co-op gas bar where 10 cents of each litre sold went towards the playground. As well as slush day every Friday from July to the end of August as people could donate as much as they wanted. A new playground was built a few weeks ago as the old play structure was almost 35 years old.

"We've created an accessible playground. It also provides wonderful learning and play opportunities for our students and to be active and have fun outside," said Jamie Fleischhacker with the St. Dominic Playground committee on the new structure.

Currently, the junior playground has been put up, as the focus shifts to the senior playground. Both play structures combined are worth an estimated $100,000 in total.
