The Town of St Brieux has been placed under a Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory as of 3pm Tuesday.

A watermain break in the community has prompted the notice.

Consumers are asked to boil all water used for drinking purposes for at least one minute prior to use. It's recommended water be boiled for other uses such as brushing teeth, washing fruits and vegetables and food or drinks which will not be subsequently heated.

Do not use the water for washing dishes, unless the water has been boiled or the dishes are sanitized in another fashion. Do not drink from any public drinking fountains supplied with water from the public water supply.

Younger children and infants should be sponge bathed.

This Advisory is effective immediately, and will not be lifted until the water supply is determined to be completely safe.
