A group of students from St. Brieux School have been highlighted for their ideas in business.

The Youth Business Excellence Awards were held in Tisdale on May 6, where 12 awards were taken by students from St. Brieux.

Students created business plans, which YBEX says allows them to consider entrepreneurship as a future. It also allows them to increase their own self-esteem and level of competency.

Tessa Thomas, a Grade 12 student, was the winner of the Newsask Memorial Award, which honours past members who were dedicated to their communities.

Thomas' business, Risen Eggs, grows fresh farm eggs. Any unsold eggs are then donated to local food banks.

Business entries were placed in front of a panel of judges, with cash prizes awarded to winning students.
