A St. Brieux man has been fined by the province after he pleaded guilty to several charges under the Wildlife Act and Regulations.

Carter Pratchler, 20, was charged with hunting out of season, waste of game and discharging a firearm from a road at night for the purpose of hunting.

The incident occurred in January, when conservation officers responded to a report of a bull moose that had been shot and left to waste approximately three kilometres north of the community.

Officers determined at the time that the moose was shot before sunrise, which Pratchler admitted to in Melfort Provincial Court.

In January, officers placed SaskTip posters around the area which led to information coming in through the Turn In Poachers line.

Pratchler was fined $4,680 and also received a three year ban from hunting.
