An 18-year-old St. Brieux man has been charged with uttering threats on social media against students at St. Brieux School.

Melfort RCMP received a complaint of the threats on June 8, Staff Sgt. Deon Marquis said.

Officers found and arrested the suspect, Brennan Hunt, who faces one count of uttering a threat.

RCMP attended the St. Brieux High School to conduct interviews and take statements during the school’s graduation ceremony, though there was no ongoing threat to the event.

No one was injured in the incident and no weapons were seized, Marquis said.

Hunt is scheduled to make his second court appearance at Melfort Provincial Court on June 19.
