The City of Humboldt is reminding residents about road construction on 5th Avenue near the Post Office and south on Main Street between 2nd and 4th Avenue.

Work has been ongoing on 5th Avenue across 7th Street for some time but they are expected to jump a block over to the Post Office in the near future all depending on the weather. The City is aware the Post Office is a busy downtown hub so they are urging residents to be cautious around crews. They are replacing a "major water main" during this period.

An alternate entrance to the parking lot will be made accessible during the work.

Later in September crews will move to Main Street between 2nd and 4th Avenues. A sewer and water main is being changed at that location. Affected residents will be notified once construction dates are confirmed.

The City has budgeted $2.7 million in road and line work for the 2015 season. Read more here for details.
