The Social Workers of Humboldt are hoping to donate to a great cause, as well as get their name into the public eye.
On Monday, December 17th, at the Regional Campground, for just five dollars citizens of Humboldt were treated to a couple of open fires, some hot-dog roasting, as well as sugar cookies and good company. The proceeds of the event were all put back into the Humboldt Soup Kitchen.
Jessica Weiman, a local representative with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers, on the goals of hosting the event.
"We thought we would host a fun winter festival right before Christmas, to get everyone into the Holiday spirit."
Weiman continued, "We kind of feel like the Social Workers of Humboldt is a bit of an unknown group, so we saw this as a great opportunity to let Humboldt know who we are and what we do, as well as raise money for a giving cause like the Soup Kitchen."
The final proceeds were not yet tallied, however, the Soup Kitchen is a worthy cause to raise funds for.
