UPDATE: The Highway Hotline reports that travel is not being recommended east of Humboldt on Highway 5, and north of Watson along Highway 6. For the latest highway conditions, click here.

A steady stream of snow since the early morning hours of Friday will continue on in the Humboldt area.

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the region, noting that 10 to 20 centimetres could be seen over a 24 hour period.

A low-pressure trough brought heavier snow to the west-central side of the province overnight and is now moving northeast, according to the weather agency.

As of Friday morning, those travelling on the highways have reported covered roads, as well as drifting and swirling snow, with at times poor visibility.

The snow is expected to taper off on Saturday morning.
