The Government of Saskatchewan is providing an estimated $2 million to groups and organizations across the province through their gaming grant program.

Groups that raise funds through licensed charitable gaming receive money back as part of the program.

"Volunteer fire departments, youth sports teams and clubs that provide programming for seniors are just some of the groups and organizations in the province that benefit from charitable gaming grants," Minister responsible for SLGA Don McMorris stated in a news release. "The groups that receive these grants are made up of volunteers who work hard to strengthen their communities and our government is pleased to provide this additional assistance."

Gaming activities such as bingo, raffles, breakopens, Texas Hold 'em poker and Monte Carlo events are eligible for the quarterly grant if an organization properly hosts those events.

The grant is equal to 25 percent of the net revenues raised from the event, to a maximum grant of $100,000 per year.
