Many Humboldt residents found out the easiest way to make a $20 donation to a good cause, without even having to open their own wallets.

The Humboldt Public School Child Care Centre was host to a day of fun on Saturday for many Humboldt families, despite the chilly and rainy weather. Less than ideal conditions didn't stop the dedicated staff and supportive families of the daycare centre from giving it their all in order to raise as much money as they could.  The school child care centre raised funds through a BBQ and with the help of Ford Canada. Teamed up with Discovery Ford of Humboldt, the school is hoping to reach up to the maximum $6,000 donation that Ford Canada is offering. For every test drive taken of a Ford vehicle, Ford Canada will donate $20 to the cause.

Melissa Sand, the childcare centre's Executive Director, says she is pleased with the turn out of their first fundraising event with Discovery Ford. She says, "We've never done anything like this before. So, it was very exciting and we've had a really good turn out so far." When asked about specfic numbers, Sand proudly says, "I think we have over 200 people registered (to take a test drive)."

The funds raised after Saturday's Drive 4UR school event will go towards indoor and outdoor play equipment to be enjoyed by the youngsters at the Child Care Centre.
