He has done event art for the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Raptors, and last Friday Victor Fraser added his mark to Humboldt.

The Toronto artist painted the words “Humboldt Strong” in temporary paint on the sidewalk leading to City Hall.

“It’s important to me to support my fellow Canadians. As somebody who is a part of hockey and also someone who is compassionate to loss, what I can do as an artist is things like this.”

Fraser’s mother is from Melfort, and when she emailed him about the Humboldt Broncos bus crash, he had been in Manchester doing a tribute for victims of the Ariana Grande concert bombing last year.

His mother said it was important to her that he come to Humboldt to do something to show love and help people come to terms with the accident, Fraser said.
