Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Humboldt, Wynyard, Wadena, Lanigan and Foam Lake areas.

The storms may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.

They're being caused by a cold front pushing eastward across southern Saskatchewan this afternoon.

The storms will weaken as they approach the Manitoba border late this evening.
