A sensitive Santa made an appearance in Humboldt on Saturday.

The Humboldt and District Community Services hosted a sensitive Santa from 2-3 PM in their office. A total of 11 children visited with the jolly man himself.

Parents were able to call in one hour beforehand to book their children for a private meeting with Santa. The meeting allowed children that struggle with different sensitivities to have a relaxed setting to visit with Santa.

"There were a number of comments such as the lines were too long, the noise was just too loud, and the crowd was too large. Some kids struggle in these environments and in some way we took those elements out to make it more relaxing," said Mara Doepker, support services coordinator with the Humboldt and District Community Services.

This is the first ever year the event has been put on by Humboldt and District Community Services.
