Cool and wet weather has graced the region over the last week but some seeding progress was still able to be made.

The east-central region has 19 percent of the crop in the ground that is up from 11 percent last week.

Seeding operations are 60 percent complete in the southeast, 46 percent in the southwest, 16 percent in the west-central region, 8 percent in the northwest and 4 percent in the northeast.

The five year seeding average is 33 percent, 51 percent of the crop was seeded at this time last year.

Field work and seeding efforts have been hindered in some parts of the province by large amounts of rain. Fields and roads in some regions are too wet and soft to support equipment.

Seeding, controlling weeds, and attempting to wrap up last year's harvest has producers occupied around the province.
