The local scouts are raising money to try and get to the Canadian Jamboree in 2017, which is being held in Nova Scotia.

To help raise funds for the trip, they are holding a homemade goods sale at the Humboldt Mall.

Aaron Behiel with the Humboldt Scouts says the items go well beyond traditional baking.

"[We are] selling a variety of items, para-cord bracelets, fire starters, firewood, bake sale items," he noted.

Behiel added that due to the cost to travel to Atlantic Canada, they have plenty of fundraising to do.

"We have to raise about $2,500 a kid to go actually, so we're doing what we can, and everything we have is made by the scouts."

They will be selling the goods until 5:00pm Saturday, but Behiel says they will be making more appearances.

"[We] hope to be out at a few trades shows coming up and many more activities to come."

The next big fundraiser that the scouts have is their annual bottle drive, which will be held April 23.
