It's a chance to see one of the best views of Humboldt.

The Water Tower is open for the summer, allowing you to take the climb up the stairs and see the area from the top.

Museum Supervisor Jean Price says that they were eager to get things rolling.

"We're really excited this year. We got it open nice and early," she noted.

Wednesday was the first day for tours, which are being offered three days week.

Tours are being offered until the end of August on Wednesdays from 10:00am to 1:00pm, as well as Friday and Saturdays from 1:30pm to 4:30pm.

"There will be staff there for guided tours. The tower looks great this year and it looks like we will have a nice summer, so it's a great chance to come and see the view from the top of the stairs," noted Price.

There is only a slight admission to take the tour, which will help support ongoing projects.

Price added that the tower has undergone extensive work to be maintained.

"The committee did a lot of work with getting painting done and some of the interior shaped," she said. "This year, we started to install the interpretive information, so there is a lot of stats for the water tower and what the committee went through to preserve it."

Price says that on Thursday, the Museum is hosting their annual fundraising barbecue for the Museum and Gallery Public Foundation, which will go from 11:30am to 1:00pm
