As you drove to work in Humboldt this morning you likely saw trees around the city decorated with green and yellow ribbons - the colours of the Humboldt Broncos.

It's the work of several people in the community including Gwen Saret, Bernie Saret, and Shelley Wylie.

Gwen told us where the idea came from.

"I just thought of it.  I wanted to do it so we bought every piece of yellow surveyors tape in Humboldt, and we couldn't find any green surveyors tape so we had to cut up tablecloths."

Saret says it's not exactly the same as the old song Tie A Yellow Ribbon, because unfortunately, "Some of the boys aren't coming home.  So we're tying yellow and green in support of all our boys, our city, and the families".

Bernie Saret says they hope to do more.

"We want to do as much as we can.  We've got it done around the Uniplex already, we did the light standards and the things that we could there.
