Humboldt residents attending Friday's Remembrance Day ceremony are reminded to be seated early.

The Remembrance day ceremony will include the march of the veterans, the laying of the wreaths, and a 2 minute silence at 11 o'clock.

Rev. Al Hingley describes his excitement for this year's ceremony.

"What I'm excited about this year is that we have the band back. The Little German Band and I understand some friends, are going to be there, along with the organists and the choir and the soloists. Music adds so much, it's just that I'm as excited as I'm always excited about November 11th that the community takes time to remember."

Rev. Hingley explains the meaning behind the Remembrance day ceremony.

"They may not be with us physically, but I sense their presence with us spiritually when we're gathered together on that occasion. We did it one Remembrance Day and perhaps we should do it again, it was the practice of one regiment that in the morning when they had roll call, those that were lost from the last roll call, when their name was called, the rest hollered 'Present'."

Rev. Hingley talks about when people should arrive for the ceremony.

"Everybody should be in their seats by 10:30 because the honour party parades in at 10:45 so that everybody is in place so that we can have the two minute silence as close to the historic hour of 11 as possible."

The laying of the wreaths, two minute moment of silence and other Remembrance day traditions will take place Friday morning during the ceremony.
