Though we are still two and a half months away from the event, registration is now open for the Humboldt District Hospital Foundation's annual walk run.

The Have a Heart Walk Run is officially taking entries as of Monday.

"Go online to the website, or give us a call, and we can register online for you, or mail you a form," says Executive Director Lorrie Bunko.

This year, the foundation has moved the walk to the Humboldt Golf Club, where the front nine holes will be the scenery.

"Every year we always worry and battle traffic around Humboldt. When you have children and people on the streets, you need to make sure everyone is safe," explained Bunko. "With more and more traffic, we thought it would be a great idea to partner with the golf club and take it out there."

The partnership for this year will see the HDHF donate 10% of all funds raised to the golf club through an honorarium.

Of course, the walk always comes with a unique theme, and this being the 30th year of the foundation's existence, Bunko says their theme is fit for a celebration.

"Dress in your party gear and those people will be judged and prizes will be given out to those who are best dressed," she said. "We have a lot of people who participate in the event and they love pulling out different kinds of costumes."

The walk will be held on Sunday, October 2. Click here to visit the foundation's website.
