The 17th Annual Mark Of Excellence Awards took place last night at the Humboldt Uniplex where community members gathered with local business owners to share in the excitement of all the successful local talented business owners, organizations, and entrepreneurs. The event was put on by The Humboldt and District Chamber of Commerce. The energy levels were super high as the night went on as we found out who the winners of each awards were.

The Community Merit Award winner was: The Humboldt Gathering Place

The Community Involvement Award winner was: Humboldt Home Hardware Building Centre

The Service Award winner was: Bunz Electric LTD. 

The Marketing Award winner was: Pharmasave

The Young Entrepreneur winners were: Mike and Lacey Rath with Pharmasave

The New Business Venture winner was: Heavy Tech Truck & Trailer Wash

The Small Business of the Year winner was: Tremblay Electric

Large Business of the Year winner was: Humboldt Sobeys

The People's Choice Award winner was: Free Spirit Market

Mike and Lacey Rath react to their double win last night, "It's very humbling, we would have been happy to win one, but to win two is pretty fantastic, very grateful." "Great, great businesses, all the nominees are very deserving of any of these awards. That's also why were very shocked there's a lot of really good nominees. So congrats to everyone, anyone's deserving."

Dave Doepker reacts to his award win, "I was quite surprised we have been nominated a number of times and this is the first time since probably 19--, I'm not sure we won it with IGA probably 10 years ago. Very happy so many deserving business in Humboldt and area so it's very nice."

Stacey Stroeder reacts to her award win, "Very humbled to accept it and very grateful, don't take anything for granted. Very happy for what has come out of this."
