The Humboldt RCMP are continuing to investigate an accident early Saturday morning which led to a woman having her leg amputated.

The police say a 21 year-old woman was crossing the Main Street tracks near 5th Avenue between train cars when it started to move. Once that occurred the woman fell and had her leg run over by the car.

She was transported to the Humboldt District Health Complex before being taken to the Royal University Hospital n Saskatoon where her lower leg was amputated.

Her name has not been released.
