The fifth annual Humboldt and District Health Foundation Radiothon wrapped up Thursday afternoon.

This year's fundraiser generated over $55,000 earmarked to purchase equipment for the regional health complex.

Executive Director Lorrie Bunko was ecstatic with the success and had a long list of people to thank.

"Our donors, volunteers, PotashCorp Lanigan for that $10,000 matching challenge, the Humboldt Co-op for the nutrition break on Monday, those who were interviewed and the Saskatoon Health Region."

That matching donation challenge in the middle of the push was a highlight for Bunko.

"I would say it would be Wednesday when we announced at 9:15, the PotashCorp matching challenge that the phone starting ringing, I think the parking lot filled right up, people were coming from all areas. It was three hours straight of receiving donations, it was adrenaline rush."

This year's total was $20,000 more than last year, over the half decade existence of the fundraiser, over $300,000 has been raised.
