Camping season is officially upon us starting on Thursday.

Saskatchewan Pronvincial Parks are preparing for another busy season according to Parks, Culture, and Sport Minister Ken Cheveldayoff.

"Whether it's camping, fishing, relaxing on the beach or any other activities available, there is something for everyone in Saskatchewan Provincial Parks."

Provincial parks experienced nearly 4 million visits in 2016.

An alcohol ban will be in place again for the long weekend in provincial and some regional parks. Cottages and commercial business are not affected by the ban.

A number of parks will have reduced services early on in the season and some may have precautionary drinking water advisories as well.

There is a list of available services avaiable here.

With Canada celebrating its 150th anniversary, special programs will be happening throughout the season.

Free day entry is being offered on July 1st and on Canada Parks day on July 15th.

Balckstrap, Buffalo Pound, Cypress Hills, Duck Mountain, Moose Mountain and Rowan's Ravine are available for reservation until the end of September.
