There are lots of events are taking place this weekend in the area. 

With it being a long weekend, many Canada Day celebrations stretch into Saturday and Sunday.

Hog fest is one of those events. The 45th annual Hog fest over in Englefeld. The event includes a parade for Saturday morning, as well as a trade show beginning at 11. Slo-pitch also continues on the diamonds, with the ever so famous Hog supper at 5 in the arena. A dance will follow running from 9 until 1.

Naicam also holds their homecoming and 95 birthday celebration this weekend. Pancake breakfast begins at 8, with a parade starting at 11. Entertainment will take place at the park in the afternoon, and a movie will be shown in the library. A catered supper is to follow at the Viking Sportsplex. A street dance begins at 9, with live entertainment from "Bad Habit." Fireworks are also being lit tomorrow night.

And lastly, Middle Lake Hotel is hosting a street dance to wrap up the Slo-pitch tournament currently going on at Lucien Lake Park.

There are many events in our area for people to celebrate the long weekend.
