Prairie Women on Snowmobiles might not start their ride until January, but for Arlene Lockinger, her fundraising efforts begin Saturday and Sunday.

Lockinger is holding a burger sale at Hannigan's in order to raise enough funds to join the Prairie Women on Snowmobiles ride.

She describes some of the route.

"We make a 1,400 kilometre ride. We're going to start out in Hudson bay on January 29th, and we'll go through quite a few different places."

Lockinger explains her reasoning for starting her fundraising.

"Every core rider has an amount they have to raise to go on so that it will help pay for some of their fun along the way, and also all of the rest of the money will go towards Breast Cancer research."

Lockinger talks about the cause the Prairie Women on Snowmobiles supports, and how it has personally impacted her.

"It's for a good cause. Prairie Women on Snowmobiles are known for raising money for Breast Cancer, and actually I've had my mother pass away with Cancer. She was diagnosed with Breast Cancer two days before she died."

The burger saleruns from 11 AM to 7 PM both Saturday and Sunday, the ride begins January 29th.
