Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan has announced they will shutter a mine in New Brunswick indefinitely moving production to a provincial facility here.

The company cut 430 jobs at their Picadilly mine in Sussex, NB. 100 of those effected will be offered positions here in Saskatchewan.

The move is expected to save the company up $50 million this year but the savings will be cut back by $35 million due to severance packages to employees losing their jobs.

The customers the Sussex mine served will now have access to the fertilizer ingredient through Canpotex here in Saskatchewan.
