As you have likely noticed construction activity at the corner of Main Street and 5th Avenue is causing some issues downtown.

The City of Humboldt is replacing the water main on 5th forcing a road closure.

With the post office at the site they have maintained an opening in the back lane with access to the parking lot.

Weather permitting the work is expected to be complete October 12th.

Meanwhile, this Friday the 200 block of Main Street will be closed for approximately a week.

Crews will then move to the 300 block of Main Street to perform sewer and water main work, that will also take about a week.

The City will provide another update on Friday as these are weather permitted projects.
