The City of Humboldt is applauding this year's Our Humboldt Photo contest.

Community Development Coordinator Colby McClelland says their entries really spiked this year which was great to see.

"We got a total of 48 submissions this year and that was our best we've seen since we started the contest in 2013. Another big change is that we decided to display more than the top three in gallery so now we have the top nine. They are currently there just in time for Culture Days so I encourage everyone to check it out."

They will be viewable until October 7th.

"There was many, many photos that were really, really good," McClelland boasted. "It was kind of difficult to pick the top three."

The contest has become enticing enough to local amateurs that a request to hold a winter version, no commitment has been made towards that, yet.
