Phone scams have been swirling all over the province this year, with over 850 incidents reported to RCMP.

In Humboldt, two major scams have taken place, both involving money owed.

Here in Humboldt, calls have included scammers claming to be from the Canada Revenue Agency.

The call includes a threat to send the RCMP over to the victims home address to arrest the victim if they don't pay.

In another instance, the caller will tell the victim they are from the RCMP and there is a warrant out for their arrest for tax-related issues, and attempts to collect tax money over the phone.

RCMP remind people that they are not in the business of collecting money, and will never call asking for it.

A total of 17 people from Saskatchewan have lost close to $70,000 each.
