First it was Ituna for Hockeyville, now the Humboldt Peewee A Broncos are hoping for some online help.

The team took the initiative earlier this season to conduct a bottle drive that generated $800 for PARTNERS Family Services. The money was used to purchase diapers, baby formula, toothbrushes and paste, plus other hygiene products for people in need.

The entire event was videotaped and edited into a one minute feature that was entered into the Chevrolet Canada Good Deeds Challenge and the Broncos were selected as a regional winner.

They are now competing in an online voting competition against a dozen other teams across Canada. Voting opened at 10pm local time Wednesday night and will close at 9:59pm next Wednesday. You can vote once every 24 hours.

The winning team will receive $2,500 that will be contributed to two local charities, the Broncos have chosen the Humboldt Food Bank and the Humboldt and District Summer Recreation and Respite Camp.

This is the second year the team has taken on an initiative that goes well beyond the ice.
