Humboldt was the stop of the day for the Peace Run group that has traveled all across North America.

One of the runners, Arpan DeAngelo, was from New York state and had great things to say about Humboldt.

"Humboldt itself compared to New York City is very peaceful."

DeAngelo talked about the group of runners and how the run works.

"(We are an) International team of 11 or 12 runners and we run a 10 000 mile relay around North America."

"We don't run as a race or to show off we run to meet people and to pass a torch, it symbolizes individual peace being spread one person at a time and we think the world will make a lot of progress in terms of world peace if each person would take the responsibility to do something in their lives to be more peaceful."

The group was headed to Foam Lake today as well before continuing to Winnipeg, Minnesota, Toronto and back to New York, New England States and then Connecticut.

DeAngelo mentioned how long and how far they travel.

"Four months, ten thousand miles and we run as much of it as we can."
