PotashCorp Lanigan gave back to the community of Humboldt in a big way Wednesday morning.

Calico Gymnastics was presented with a $10,000 cheque as they continue to raise funds for a new building.

Rob Jackson, General Manager of PCS Lanigan talked about why this was such an important donation for them to make.

"PotashCorp and Lanigan definitely want to support our sorrounding communities where our employees live and we definitely want to continue to support so people can always go on our website and apply."

Calico will hold a gala on September 18th to continue the fund raising efforts said Calico board member Carolyn Janidlo MacLean.

"Brianne Theisen-Eaton is coming in with Ashton Eaton and they're gonna be talking about sportsmanship so if anyone is interesting in getting a table we'd much appreciate it and it will go towards our efforts for Calico Gymnastics again."

Janidlo MacLean filled us in on where PotashCorp's donation will go, "we are hoping to build a new building so our facility can be brand new and updated for the gymnastics so it's going to be invested right now towards a down payment for our new building."

She added that the fundraising efforts will continue on into next year.

Calico is always open to new gymnasts.
