PARTNERS Family Services in Humboldt is once again collecting school supplies for area children.

Last year their goal was to provide 30 kids with supplies however that ballooned to 50.

"This will be our fourth Summer," explained Crystal Perkins, the Family Support Program Coordinator. "It all started out with a couple families just needing some notebooks and binders and then we decided to do a drive about four years ago and it's just become an annual thing."

This year PARTNERS is joining forces with the Humboldt Regional Newcomers Centre to provide for families in need.

"We see the same needs out in the community but we both reach different groups of people," Perkins mentioned of the HRNC. "We just to make sure we have everyone covered, anybody that's in need can access supplies."

Drop boxes are set up at PARTNERS on 5th Avenue, the Uniplex plus at the Newcomers Centre.

Perkins mentions some items they are hoping to receive.

"Anything to do with going back to school, so pencils, erasers, pencil cases, scissors. Anything that you think that would be a benefit to the kids."

The drop boxes will be out until August 25th. Anyone wishing to register to receive supplies can contact PARTNERS at 682.4135 or the HRNC at 682.4277.
