On April, 6th 2016 a visitor restriction was put into place at Parkland Place in Melfort due to a gastrointestinal outbreak.

The outbreak affected a total of 29 residents and 26 staff. The cause of the outbreak was confirmed as Norovirus.

The visitor restriction has officially been lifted as of yesterday.

The public can help prevent the spread of the norovirus by always washing hands with warm soapy water,

using alcohol-based hand gel, cooking food thoroughly, cleaning all surfaces, especially taps, railings, door handles, and counters.

Also if you are ill stay home.
