Those in the Quill Lake area seeking parenting tips are in luck.

Humboldt's PARTNERS Family Services is headed to the community every Tuesday night throughout November for their Positive Parenting Program.

Each week will feature a new topic, according to Coordinator Jenna Holt.

"With the discussion groups, there is four specific topics. We are starting with dealing with disobedience. It's really just to get some new tips and strategies on how to deal with our kids when they're doing those bad behaviours."

Other topics will include developing good bedtime routines, shopping hassle free and managing fighting and aggression.

Holt says that after PARTNERS was able to experience the community recently, they were interested in offering more services.

"It's our first time out there. We have done a few open houses out there for the school, but we decided to do the discussion groups," she explained. "It's on the edge of our service barrier, so it is great to get out there."

She added that the program isn't necessarily tailored to just mom and dad.

"It's for every parent out there. It could be a caregiver that just looks after kids during the day. It could be a full-time parent or even a grandparent."

The groups will be held at Quill Lake School from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

There are 12 spots per session, so Holt advises signing up as soon as possible. Registration can be done by contacting PARTNERS at 306-682-4135.
