A large amount of snowfall combined with mild temperatures made for uneasy driving conditions Monday.

One man is dead following a multiple vehicle collision on Highway 16 west of Plunkett.

At 1:50pm Monday, police responded to the scene of the crash along with assistance from the Viscount Fire and EMS units. Upon arriving they discovered two semis had collided.

Police have not confirmed a cause for the accident, though highway conditions are icy.

Both the east and west bound lanes have been closed since, and will remain closed as crews work to clear the area.

Police are reminding motorists to use caution on highways as well as to ensure a reduced speed when passing emergency vehicles.
