Humboldt and District Museum got kids out of their houses on August 2nd for the Museum Olympics which is the 3rd event out of 4 for the season of summer.

Children from the ages of 4 and 12 split into 2 teams, Water Tower team and the Red River Cart team to take part in activities involved with the new stories of Humboldt exhibit.

"We do it to get them (the kids) to think about their community in a different way, getting them to think about their world in a different way, and also to have tons of fun in the summer," said Jean Price, Museum Supervisor.

The Red River Cart team took the gold as the silver was given to the Water Tower team. Although the past two events were not as competitive as this summer program. The first event was a coat hunting program and the second event consisted of rock flower painting.

Last but not least, the 4th event of the kids' summer program is taking place on August 9th which is an architectural event. Children get to create their own landscape and architectures. Admission is 5 dollars per child and all funds are going towards the museum.
