A cheque presentation took place on Monday Morning outside the food bank where Olymel donated just over 16 thousand dollars as part of their feeding the world campaign.

Kevin Reiter of the Humboldt Food Bank tells us what the money will be used towards.

"We get lots of food donations from the people in Humboldt. But sometimes we get a whole bunch of soup and a whole bunch of beans but we don't get any stew. So we take the money and we buy stew, we buy eggs all the time and bread and we'll buy some meat. That's what we'll be using the money for."

Reiter also expresses his gratitude.

"I just want to thank Olymel. It was a really large donation that they made to us and it took a lot of work to do. They had a barbecue and they had a whole bunch of sponsors that they got. I want to thank Casey Smit for that and they put on that really good barbecue and it was really well attended."

The money was fundraised from a barbeque lunch that took place outside of Olymel earlier this month. You can read more about that here.
