Over the past few months, people have reported wild animals within the city limits of Humboldt.

This was a topic that was brought up at city council Monday, November 26th.

To prevent the animals from coming into town, residents can clean up after themselves by not leaving garbage, compost, and pet food out for the animals to eat. On that note, Humboldt has done a great job of doing so.

"When city staff talked to the conservation officers, they indicated that the number of animals coming into the city has been decreasing because of the proper containment of garbage with the cart system we've implemented," said Humboldt's Mayor, Rob Muench.

If a wild animal is spotted within the city limits, people are to contact the local conservation officer at (306) 682-6726.
