Although Monday was a holiday, there is no break from helping people in need.

Canadian Blood Services was back in Humboldt taking donations at Jubilee Hall.

"Giving blood is probably the most direct way that you can give back and impact your community directly," explained Katherine Wasylynka.

She added that many think the use of blood has a limited purpose when it actually provides a lot more.

"A lot of people think blood is just used for a car accident or trauma situation, but people need blood every day," she noted. "It is used every minute of every day that someone in Canada does need it."

The clinics are offered in Humboldt multiple times a year, lasting from 2:00pm to 7:0pm. The next clinic is scheduled for November 20.
