A new Zamboni at Watrous Centennial Arena is another step closer to reality.
Melron Services in Watrous has donated $50,000 towards the purchase of a new ice resurfacer.
Earlier this month, Richardson Pioneer kicked in $25,000 for the Zamboni.
Recreation Director Taya Tokarski said that the current model they have is starting to show its age, being a model from 1985.
The donation from Melron puts the fundraising goal of $150,000 past the halfway point.
Ideally, the community would like to have the Zamboni ready to go for the 2017-18 hockey season.
