Wadena is now home to a new Partners Family Services (PFS) Walk-in Clinic.

Partners Family Services' new Walk-In Counselling Clinic officially launched in Wadena on Monday, September 9th. The new facility caters to anyone dealing with any form of mental health illness and is available every Monday with no appointments needed.

"It offers drop-in counselling for children, youth, adults, families or couples. It's similar to the program that we run in Humboldt and Wynyard. The goal is to make sure that individuals or families have access to counselling on a schedule that they need. There's no need to make an appointment and of course, there's no fee for it. They can see one of our social workers that day for a full therapeutic session. If they need to come back, they always can, and if they don't, that's ok too," said Executive Director of Partners Family Services, Hayley Kennedy.

The Wadena walk-in counselling program offers its counselling towards a wide variety of mental health issues. People can access the services any Monday from 10am-4pm. As well, no prior screening is required for accessing the program.

"The primary focus is for people who are identifying that they are dealing with anxiety or depression or other mental health concerns. It could also be relationship concerns, things like domestic violence, personal stress or work challenges. They see and offer help for a wide variety of issues."

The new clinic is located in the Public Health Office at 433 5th Street NE in Wadena. Along with the Wadena clinic, PFS still runs their two existing walk-in counselling clinics. The PFS Walk-In Clinic in Humboldt is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am-4m, as well as their program in Wynyard, which runs Thursdays from 10 am - 4 pm.
