With the passing of the City of Humboldt's new sign bylaw, residents are restricted from posting their garage sales and other events on city owned land.

To compensate for the new bylaw, the city recently installed two new sign boards for those looking to advertise their sale or other community events.

On the west side, a board is set-up on the north service road off Highway 5, across from the Bella Vista Inn and Geschaft Centre.

The east side has access to a board outside the campground, right next to the visitor information sign.

A community sign board has been installed next to the city's visitor information.

"We installed the sign boards in two key locations where residents can easily park their vehicles and view the sign board," stated Councillor Roger Nordick. "Previously, residents posted event signs on city land and on corners of busy intersections, which was a distraction for drivers."

The city says that any community event signs placed on city land will be removed immediately.
