A new scholarship sponsored by the parents of former Humboldt Broncos player Jacob Leicht will help St. Peter’s College students embarking on university study. A release from St. Peter’s College notes that Kurt and Celeste Leicht established the memorial scholarship in memory of a son, brother, hockey player, and alum who lost his life in the Broncos bus accident.

Leicht is remembered as an all around athlete who had begun his studies in kinesiology at St. Peter’s College. He is also remembered as a leader both on and off the ice and as a role model for his three siblings. 

The award is available to students enrolling in kinesiology classes which is a reflection of Jacob’s belief about the benefits of a healthy and active lifestyle. It will go to a first time St. Peter’s College student who is entering studies on a full or part time basis. The award is valued at $1100.

Jacob Leicht provided a shining example of academic and athletic excellence. The award will allow Jacob’s memory and his passionate spirit to inspire others.
