The Humboldt Music Festival will continue this week in the city.

Performances will take place all week long beginning Monday evening.

"The first two days of the week are going to be our band performances and that is going be to at St. Augustine School and then the remainder of the week is going to be at Jerome Assembly Hall at St. Peter's Abbey with our vocal competition," spokesperson Patti Durand promoted Sunday.

She says the first week of performances were spectacular.

"It was fantastic, it is always amazing to see the results of a lot of hard work on the student's behalf and it was really entertaining."

Durand says that the festival gives students the chance to have professional encouragement.

"It's a good opportunity for them. They have adjudication, which means there is a music professional which will give them some feedback. They are graded and there are first and second places, but more importantly, it gives them an opportunity for them to get some direction outside their normal teaching environment."

For Band, Strings and Guitar, the event will be at St. Augustine School, with performances beginning at 9:30am both Monday and Tuesday and evening performances set for Monday at 6:30pm.

Vocal, Choir and Speech Arts at back at Jerome Assembly in Muenster and start up at 9:30am on Wednesday and Friday, with 1:00pm being the start on Thursday.
