The Humboldt and District Museum, along with the Water Tower Committee are now offering guided tours of the landmark.

"We will be offering guided tours so you can get up to the top of the tower with a guided tour," explained museum supervisor Jean Price. "There will be a charge of $5/person or $20 per family which is two adults and up to four kids under 18."

There are 143 steps to the top of the structure that have been remodeled and sold as a fundraising initiative. Price says the walk is long and tiresome but oh so worth it.

"Building the staircase inside was just a phenomenal task and a lot of that was done through volunteerism. We have them to thank for having such a wonderful treasure in our community that was saved."

The tours are every Wednesday and Saturday from 2-4:30. Staff will be on hand at the tower during those times, cash is accepted at the tower itself. You can also pre-purchase tickets from the museum itself using debit or credit.

"It's absolutely amazing," Price continued. "Where else would you get a 360 degree view of the province? You can see pretty much all of the city, you can see out almost all the way to Muenster, you can see north and south, both directions really far. It's absolutely phenomenal what you can see from up there."
