Last year’s Muenster Donor’s Choice campaign was put on hold during the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic. With fundraising efforts for many of its partner organizations quelled for over a year, the Muenster Donor’s Choice committee is going ahead with a distanced and safe option for residents to donate to their charities of choice this year. This year’s campaign will be going on from May 15 to 31.

Muenster Donor’s Choice has been a long time fixture in the community, says coordinator Marguerite Cunnigham.

“It’s something that’s been going on for many years. Before we had done it as a door to door canvas, but due to COVID again this year, we can’t do it that way. So we’ve done a mail out through the community’s utility bills. We also have a pledge sheet going out with our church bulletin.”

The pledge sheet allows residents to select their cause or causes from among several dozen listed or give direction to the committee as to where the donation should be dispersed. National organizations such as the Canadian Red Cross, the Juvenile Diabetes Association, and STARS are represented. So are local interests such as the Village of Muenster Disaster Fund, Humboldt and District Community Services, and the Humboldt Food Bank.

Residents who have not received a mail out can pick up pledge forms from local businesses such as the Retail Post Office at Eastside Liquidation and the Muenster Co-op.

Form return and payment instructions are listed on the pledge form itself.
