Half the fun is getting dirty, isn't it?!

Quading enthusiasts seemed to think so, as they flocked to Watson on Saturday by the truckful. The Optimist Club of Watson initiated their first annual Quad Rally on a beautiful fall day, and an estimated 500 four-wheeler aficionados came out to take part in the day-long event.

"We created the Optimist Club about a year ago now, and this is actually our launch party for our event", explains Kailyn Simon, Vice President of the Optimist Club of Watson.

The group makes every effort possible to give back to the Watson community. Simon says, "We are a non-profit foundation, and we donate all of our money fundraised to the community to make it better for the youth or the upcoming youth, so that our children and children to come, have something to look forward to when they grow up".

The day's events included a mid-point lunch held by Twisted Tails Bar & Grill and a steak supper after the ride, held at the Watson Civic Centre and hosted by the Bella Vista Inn.

The main intention behind the event, besides the quad-riding fun, was to help the Optimist Club of Watson raise funds, which will go directly back into the community. Simon says, "The funds that we raise will be going to the school, and (will) hopefully help the community out a bit more".

Further fundraising was encouraged through raffle ticket sales, a 50/50 draw and donated door prizes.
