Mid-Sask Municipal Alliance gathered together Tuesday night in Lanigan for their Investment Attraction launch.

One of the evening's keynote speakers, Executive Vice-President with MDB Insight Paul Blais talked about some of the unique-ness of the area, highlighting Manitou Beach and the mining industry.

He says bigger potash investments are definitely a possibility.

"Hopefully it's eventually going to happen and what we would want them to be prepared for is to the ability to attract the spin off businesses that could come with that rather than them being based out of Saskatoon or somewhere else, that they would find shop closer to the larger mine here."

Blais is excited for the MSMA group because it just makes sense to work together and share the work load rather than working as individual towns and RM's.

The MSMA is excited to be moving forward with their new website which is expected to be completed by next week.

The second keynote speaker, Lisa Hryciw with William Joseph Communications went over branding and the new MSMA website.

"We start our written brand with brand essence which is basically capturing the culture and the core," she explained. "For MSMA it became very clear that 'rural charm, urban promise' was really the essence of the MSMA region."

As the new website gets rolled out they are looking for stories from residents such as individual who are in business in the region or individuals who have moved to the region and are raising their family here and working at one of the innovative businesses that are at work within the MSMA region.

"We'd invite people to contact  us and tell us their stories because we'd like to incorporate them into the website," explained Director of Operations and Planning Celine Favreau.

The MSMA is proud of the project thus far and is excited to be showcasing the assets of the region.

Mid-Sask Municipal allaince includes the RM's of LeRoy, Morris, Prarie Rose, and Usborne, along with the towns of Lanigan, LeRoy, Nokomis, Watrous, Watson, Manitou Beach, Drake, Jansen as well as the City of Humboldt.
