The federal budget also came down Wednesday and left many people upset.

Moose Jaw-Lake Centre-Lanigan Member of Parliament Tom Lukiwski, said he wasn't totally surprised by the changes in the budget and it "reaffirmed some of the fears" he had because of what he calls out of control spending by our current leaders.

Lukiwski said the Liberal Government is using the residents to balance the budget.

"It appears that the only way they believe they can get additional revenue is taxing Canadians. There's elimination of a number of tax credits which in effect is a tax increase, public transit riders, farmers, fishermen."

He added that GST revenues will be going up by four percent because of the carbon tax, as all items that are effected will see an increase.

He believes the government has no plan to get back to a balanced budget at all.

"In fact the government's own financial institutions including the Department of Finance and the Parliamentary Budget Officer states that the current debt levels and the current plans for the government mean they won't see a balanced budget again until approximately 2055."

He concluded that the current plan to shrink the $2.1 billion deficit is a "nickle and dime approach."

Finance Minister Bill Morneau's report included a $23 billion deficit this year, $25.5 billion next year and $24.4 billion in 2018-19.
